"The Burgh": Day Two
Today was a bit more slow and mellow. We started the morning going to the "Strip". This is an area along a street that has produce and other unique things for sale. Most of the markets and restaurants are open during the week. It is on the weekend thought that the outside vendors are there. A few of my favorites are: Enrique's Biscotti, Pennsylvania macaroni Co, Mancini's Bread Co and now a stand called Global Girl. I picked up a few fun things for myself and to share. We got a couple Mancini Peperoni rolls to eat with Richy later. We then decided that the overpowering of the pepperoni roll could not Waite and we should have a picnic at a park instead of the before planned venture to another famous restaurant.
When we got to the park we had a bit of a surprise. We had just set up our blanket and unwrapped our rolls when a petting soon truck rolled in. Needless to say we ended up packing up our stuff and moving a little more "upwind". But how many people can say they have had a petting zoo come to them?!
After the picnic we retired to the house for naps and to begin my reading of Harry Potter. Now that is a blog in itself!

A Weekend in "The Burgh": Day One!
This past weekend I headed up to Pittsburgh Pa to spend the weekend with my cousins, Richy, Marie, and Linus McAffee. It was a really fun weekend. We spent time out and about, and plenty of time hanging out at the house chatting. Linus is 2 now and continuing to be just as hilarious as ever. Friday we took a Trolley up one of Pittsburgh's still running inclines.
Going up!
Hey Baby, come sit next to me!
At the top we spent time looking at the Pittsburgh skyline and... doing out own "flying around".
Going Down!
This is sooooo much fun!
After our incline adventure we had lunch at the famous "o". It is rated in the top ten for places to get a hot dog!
The we headed to get ice cream at Dave and Andy's, also on the top ten places in the US for ice cream!
Over all, a pretty active and great day!

Faith to Move Mountains
Ya know, we all have those days when we feel like the heavens must not be understanding us down here. But let me tell you about someone that may be able to change this perspective. Beada Hill. I have been renting a room from her for about a year now. She is somewhere in her 50's, and has been suffering the symptoms/effects of Osteoarthritis since the age of 21. This last year she has been hit by a car and hospitalized (for over a month), hospitalized with pnemonia -twice-, and now has had an accident at work that has her back in the trauma unit. Her comments each time. "I guess I need to see what the Lord has planned for me." I am not sayign she does not have the occasional, "why me?" But she holds her head so high with the determination to endure to the end, whatever the trial should be. I believe that her life is a lesson we can all learn a little from.

Battle of the Grey!
The debate the other day was if the hair I picked off my shoulder was grey or blonde. I decided definitely grey. Nicole (co-worker) argued that it must be blonde. Here's a picture to see for yourself. Ok, I know, bad photo. But I have to admit, it was a little shocking. I mean, I know I have those temple grey hairs that start to appear randomly but.... one falling on my shoulder! What's next?! (Don't answer that)

A "Magical" Night!
Last night, or maybe I should say this morning, I took Ryan and Megan Gallagher, and Megan's friend Rachel to see Harry Potter - The Order of the Phoenix. Ryan did threaten to fall asleep before the movie started at 11:58 pm, but after I informed him that anyone who falls asleep when I take them to the movies does not get the privilege of going with me again, he changed his mind. After all.... it's HARRY POTTER! The movie was GREAT! Of course there were a bit of changes made to fit the humongous story line into a movie but... I still LOVED it! It was especially fun to listen to Megan and Rachel talk about what boy was the cutest and giggle during the "Harry and Cho" scene. (They are 12 after all.) Over all ... a two thumbs up experience!

My 50 Things ....
I got this idea from my sister quite some time ago. It has been fun and I do say rewarding to add and check things off my list. Allot of them are works in progress. I started making comments next to the items i was working on, and decided it was taking up too much room. So it is up to you to use your imagination, or ask me about it! :) I am not real strict about the way i accomplish the items. For instance, Kids, would usually mean that i would have my own kids, but I have included the kids I have been a full time nanny for. This list has also helped me in planning many a vacation.

Adventures with Nala.
My job of the week (besides the normals) is watching Nala. She looks pretty cute and cuddly huh? She is, unless she is barking relentlessly at the neighbors, herself, me, or any other reason she might feel like. Not to mention the computer cord and corner of the sofa she chewed up. I think from now on I need to interview the pooch before I agree to any more pet sitting! Ya know, a one on one discussion of how they feel about pet sitters and the fact that their family is leaving them for a bit. lol! She is actually really cute with the neighbor dogs and kids. She was racing back and forth along the fence with the neighbor boy. I think the boy has a little disability and cannot run very fast. But he sure was laughing hard and having a great time with Nala. Go Nala for making someones day brighter!
