Twas' the night before Christmas
and all through the May's house,
not a creature was stirring
not even a - mouse eating cat.
The stockings were hung on the ladder with care,
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of sugar coated cookies danced in their heads.
Ma in her kerchief and I in my cap,
had just settled down for a long winters nap.
(This is all I had patience for.. Merry Christmas!)
